Ann’s Choice Menu-Planning Program Earns National Recognition

Renaissance Gardens honored by It's Never 2 Late/Pioneer Network for video submission on person-centered care

WARMINSTER, PA-Renaissance Gardens at Ann's Choice earned second place in the national It's Never 2 Late/Pioneer Network "Person-Centered Care" 3 Minute Video Contest.

It's Never 2 Late and the Pioneer Network challenged its entrants from across the country to submit a video of no more than three minutes that captured person-centered care in either dining services or technology utilization. Winners were announced at the Pioneer Network Conference in Indianapolis on August 11th.

The Ann's Choice submission, entitled "A Voice for Choice: Menu Planning in Culture Change," documented the retirement community's menu-planning program offered to its residents in the personal care and skilled nursing neighborhoods called Renaissance Gardens.

Residents and family members are invited to meet every Monday afternoon with the chef, dietician and dining services leader to coordinate and select menus for the week.

During the planning sessions, residents and dining services staff consider menu variety and the availability of ingredients and food items. All meals must be certified by the dietician as being nutritionally complete.
