& Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ® Certification
Within Your Organization

DATE: Sunday, July 31
TIME: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Session Fee: $150

 Program Summary and Learning Objectives:

Help your staff be prepared, feel confident, and get recognized for learning quality dementia care practices. CARES® online dementia training with Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ® certification provides an affordable and consistent way to implement person-centered dementia care training and to meet many state requirements.

Join us for a facilitated training session led by national CARES® expert, Debbie Richman. At the end of the training session, you will be eligible for individual Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ certification and be provided with resources to implement CARES within your organization.

CARES® is a series of online video-based training programs nationally recommended by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and has become a cornerstone of professional caregiver training for more than 100,000 individuals thus far.

More than 50% of CARES® content is presented through video examples and interviews of real people living with dementia, their families, professional caregivers, and dementia experts (no actors). It also features "common approach" and "CARES® Approach" comparative video vignettes demonstrating how our person-centered approach makes a visible difference in care.

During this session, you will:
  1. Complete the 4-hour/4-module CARES® Dementia Basics™ training program in an in-person, facilitated session. Topics include Introduction to Person-Centered Care, Introduction to Dementia, Understanding Behavior as Communication, and the CARES® Approach.
  2. Be pre-registered to take the Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ® certification exam on your own time (no additional cost).
  3. Learn about the training tools, techniques, and activities to implement CARES within your organization utilizing the CARES® Classroom Guide™ for Administrators and Educators.
  4. Learn how the CARES administrative tracking and reporting system can help your organization monitor staff progress and meet state and federal dementia training regulations.

As part of attending this session, you will also receive:
  • The CARES® Classroom Guide™ for Administrators and Educators (CARES Dementia Basics version) – a $199.95 value
  • 6.0 hours of continuing education credit ($30 charge per license type; included at no extra charge if CEU credit fee is paid for conference)
